HOW TO SEND US YOUR ART
You can send us your artwork in the mail or UPS (we recommend UPS); or you can send us digital files using our file upload webpage.
If you want to upload the files directly to our server, please contact us for the address and upload instructions. Please refrain from sending us files over 2 MB in e-mail. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Due to time limitations and our work load, we are not able to design shirts for you.
If you need help finding an artist, please visit our Links page.
ART REQUIREMENTS
Please read this entire section before sending your art. Understanding and following our art requirements will help avoid any delays to your order because of art problems.
We accept hard copy (for us to scan), digital files, or film.
HARD COPY
Hard copy needs to be clean enough to require very little touch up before printing. It should be line art and not contain halftones. If there is a question about your art, you can mail it to us so we can make a better determination. Please do not fax it to us. If you need the art returned, please send the art in a reusable container with a return shipping label included.
We can take flat material, such as paper or canvas, up to 12" x 17" in size.
Art above that size will incur extra handling charges for:
1. Scanning multiple parts and assembly into one image (one color plate); and/or
2. Photo-reproduction (transparency or print) for scanning.
DIGITAL FILES
If all you are printing is solid lines and/or type, a vector file such
as created by Adobe Illustrator is preferred. Some people have asked
about the difference between vector and raster art. There is a good explanation here.
Preferred art formats include:
.ai - Adobe Illustrator - please set type to outlines or send all
fonts.
.svg - Scalable Vector Graphics
.psd - Adobe Photoshop 300DPI or better at the size you want it
printed - send fonts
used in the file.
.tif - TIFF 300DPI or better at print size
.eps - Encapsulated Post Script
.pdf - Adobe PDF - sometimes there are font problems, send fonts just
in case.
Sometimes acceptable but not preferred:
.jpg - save file at highest quality. Must be created at 300 dpi at
the size you want it printed
.bmp - must be 300 dpi at the size you want it printed
.wmf - Windows Metafile
Generally NOT acceptable, but sometimes will work (WARNING, these
files will result in an art charge):
.gif, .png, .ppt, .doc or any artwork created using Office type
productivity software.
About Resolution:
Please create graphics files at 300 dpi or higher in RGB mode at the
actual size you want printed. Please do not use images from the web,
they are too low resolution and using them may violate copyright laws
and you could be sued by the owner of the images (if you don't own
them).
Please do not upsize or "blow up" low resolution images. Lower
resolution images upsampled to 300 dpi only makes the pixels bigger
and the lines that were once smooth will appear jagged or "stair
stepped."
Fonts:
Please remember to send any fonts that are needed for output. Some
formats will allow you to embed the font in the file. If you send
Illustrator files, please convert the type to outlines before sending.
FILM
We require Emulsion Up, Right Reading, Positive. Film must be image positive with the emulsion on the correct reading side of the film.
If you have halftones or screen tints they should be 55 LPI or less. If you are printing on 50/50 poly/cotton shirts 45lpi or less, for sweats 32 LPI or less.
Film using stochastic dot separations should have an image resolution of 150 dpi, 120 dpi if printing on 50/50 poly/cotton, 90-120 dpi on sweats.

Neither Belly Acres Designs or its employees can be held liable for damages or income loss due to damages to any artwork sent to us.
